The little village of Blue Mountain Lake may be modest, but it offers substantial beauty. The Adirondacks have historically been a favored locale for leaf-peepers, showcasing a vivid display beginning in September, accompanied by a diverse range of outdoor activities to appreciate the scenery. Although many people congregate in renowned locations such as Lake Placid in the High Peaks region, Old Forge, and the hamlet of Lake George, these areas are sometimes overcrowded with tourists eager to appreciate the natural beauty and traverse the often trafficked trails. I was raised next to this huge six-million-acre park and can attest that it is a lesser-known treasure where one may experience a personal segment of fall in the Adirondacks.
