Honestly, I used to think train travel was a thing of the past—until I looked up is there an amtrak station in indianapolis and found out that there is indeed a station right in downtown Indy. It’s not a massive terminal, but it’s incredibly convenient and historically significant. I recently took a trip from there to Washington, D.C., and it was such a refreshing change from air travel. The station itself is clean, accessible, and staffed with helpful people. The train ride was smooth, and I got to actually enjoy the journey instead of just enduring it. Indianapolis may not be the first place people think of when it comes to Amtrak travel, but it definitely deserves more attention. I’m glad I discovered it and plan to use it more in the future.
